Welcome, Spring! We have been enjoying the warmer weather and beautiful blooms here in Charlotte, NC. In keeping with the season of refreshment and rejuvenation, I’ve added some new, recently completed works to the website. I hope you enjoy the new art, and if you see any pieces you may be interested in please reach out to me using my Contact page to inquire.
Work showcased in People's Spaces
One of the best parts of my work is getting to see the finished paintings hung beautifully in people’s homes. If you have one of my paintings on display in your house, please send me a picture to share and for my records! Take a look at some recent pieces, completing the room and bringing together a space:

I was lucky enough to get to do a number of commissions for the newly re-done Brunswick Inn in Southport, NC. The Brunswick Inn has to be one of the prettiest inns you’ve ever seen, completely renovated and decorated! It’s gorgeous!! I have a whole wall of my work at the top of the stairwell, all for sale.
Read MoreNew Painting Categories
If you’ve taken a look at my site lately, you may have noticed we’ve done a little reformatting! I’ve sorted my work into categories to help you find the paintings that suit your home or style more easily.
You will see my work divided into the categories of Beach, Mountain, Floral, Animal, Miscellaneous and Sold. Click into the category you’re interested in and you’ll see the paintings I have that fit this theme in the gallery on the page. Once you have found a painting that you are interested in, you can double-click on the white button in the bottom right corner and the details which include title, dimensions, and price will come up. If a piece is labeled “on consignment,” it means this piece is in a shop of some kind and you can click the link to get more information if possible. If the painting says SOLD, you can contact me to see if I can do something similar for you.
What do you think of the new set up? Let me know - and thank you for taking a look at my work!

2018-2019 Update - Painting up a Storm
After a bit of a break, I’m back with an update for this year! It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I’ve been busy working away.
I’ve got some new paintings posted on the page - here’s a quick glimpse of some of the new pieces online!
I’ve also painted some great new commissions - I have some new features posted on the Commissions page. Here’s another commission I completed recently, featuring the Appalachian chain rising above Lake James. If you have an image you love and would like to turn into a painting, please keep me in mind!
I also had the honor of participating in an artist installation at NoDa Brewing Company - I painted a painting that showcased their NoDajito beer, a refreshing summer ale with mint and lime flavors! It is up at the Brewery with the work of other great local artists.
Looking forward to sharing new work soon - back to painting I go! - Stephany
New Pieces on the Site
I've recently added some newer pieces to Stephany Templeton Fine Art - see the screenshot below for a quick glimpse or check out the Paintings page for a closer look! Back to Painting after Daughter's Wedding
Long time no see! I've been away from the website for a little bit but have recently added some new work. Why the delay, you ask? My daughter was recently married and a lot of my attention was focused this year on putting her celebration together. Some of the pieces from her wedding were pieces that I drew - we brought together our creative energies in a lot of ways to make her wedding personal and special.
Here's a little glimpse into a few wedding related things:
I hand-drew the hydrangea used in the wedding invitations, seen in the image above. The calligraphy on the envelopes was done by my daughter's friend, Dana. Here's her site if you'd like to learn more about her work, she really did a fabulous job.
I also hand-drew this freesia for the programs - we had freesia in the bouquets and for the groomsmen's boutonnieres.
Now that the busy time has slowed down, I've had time to get back to the easel and refocus. Take a look at the paintings page to see some of the recent work - more updates and news to come as the year continues! Remember that if you're interested in something in particular, you can always reach out with questions or requests for commission pieces. Thank you for reading and for your support!
Art Show 2015 - This Thursday
Bennett Waters (you can find her work here) and I are having an Art Show, to which we invite friends to come look at what we've painted and have a glass of wine to celebrate a fun year of painting. Our show will be on April 30th in Charlotte (Myers Park Area - inquire for address) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Reach out to me at stephanytempleton@gmail.com for more details if you'd like to attend.
Here are a few of my newer paintings that will be at the show - you'll have to stop by to see everything though!
Hope to see you there - if you're unable to come, wish us luck and check out our websites to get updated on our progress!
New Paintings for Spring
The flowers blooming around Charlotte make it look like a whole new city - and in the spirit of Spring, I've got a whole new group of paintings uploaded on the site with more to come! Out with the old, and in with the new - if you saw paintings before that said "SOLD" they've been removed from the Paintings section and I'll put them on a different page so it's not confusing. And I've changed the layout of the Paintings page so it's easier to see the dimensions and pricing - now you can just look in the bottom left corner instead of having to hover your mouse over the photo.
Here are a few things that I've been up to since my last post in November:
Commissions - My niece asked me if I could work on a commission piece for her this winter, which is ready to go finally! An interesting subject, the family's favorite room at the lake house - I balanced the bright yellow with some of the grey, blue and lavender hues in her home to create a piece that will add a pop to her space! The reflections on the glass and the bold colors made this a fun piece to work on. Remember, if you don't see what you're looking for on my site, you can always ask me to paint a one-of-a-kind painting just for you! Just email me at stephanytempleton@gmail.com and we can talk about your project!
A New Class - To make up one of the art classes I missed, I tried a new class on figures. I have loved drawing since college and don't get the chance to do it much anymore, so it was fun to jump back into portraiture mode and do some figure sketches. Here's one of my sketches of our model (clothed) that I may turn into a painting.
Painting up a Storm - I have been painting whenever I can to get ready for Spring. My friend Bennet and I are going to have a painting sale in April - more details to come on that! But here are some of the paintings I've completed so far. There are many more in the attic that just need a final finishing touch before they're ready to post or to sell. Look for more paintings in the coming weeks and for more information on the sale if you're interested in stopping by - paintings always look better in person, and Bennet and I would sure appreciate your support. If you have suggestions for types of paintings you'd like to see at the sale, post it in the comments below.
Hoping to add more paintings and updates soon - thank you for reading and checking out my work!
New batch of paintings on the site
When you haven't seen a post from me in a while, rest assured - I am still painting away! I've posted a group of new paintings (about fifteen, I believe) to the site for sale, mostly some warmer places now that it's started to get chilly here in Charlotte - Wrightsville Beach, Key West, Kiawah and more. Added also are some views from farther west (pre-fall leaves for now), from North Carolina locations like Asheville, Grandfather Mountain, and Wilkes County.
Here are a few of my favorites, you can check out the details on these in the Paintings page. Email stephanytempleton@gmail.com if you're interested in any of my paintings, old or new!
This painting was so fun to paint with all of the colors, brings back memories from days at the lake! 14" x 14", $175.
Another painting that's full of color, this would be a great piece for a beach house to add pop to any wall or collection. 18" x 24", $275.
Keeping with the summery theme - you'll find out soon if you haven't already that I love to paint boats. This one is a little calmer than the other two, but still shows that easy summer day that we're all starting to miss. 16" x 20", $250.
Soon I'll be posting about some paintings I've done based on my daughter's boyfriend's trip to Europe this summer - he brought back some great pictures to paint! Stay tuned for more paintings, and email me if you have any suggestions for upcoming paintings or interest in buying one of the paintings on the site!
